A major Marcia Brady storyline onThe Brady Bunchwas plucked out ofEve Plumb's own life.

The actress, 67, best known for her time as Jan Brady on the iconic family sitcom, appeared on thePop Culture Preservation Societypodcast, where she discussed her favorite episodes of the show with hosts Carolyn Cochrane, Kristin Nilsen and Michelle Newman.

During the April 19 appearance, Plumb shared that she loved shooting episodes that took the fictional family on location.

"I always like the ones where we traveled," Plumb shared. "The Hawaii episodes, getting to go places, getting to go to the Grand Canyon, was great. Because for me, it’s not necessarily the episode that I watch, it was the episode that I filmed. So for me, the Grand Canyon was fun. For me, Hawaii was fun."

When the Davy Jones episode came up as a group favorite, Plumb revealed, "In real life, my father had signed the Monkees to RCA [Records] in his job."

The episode, 1971's "Getting Davy Jones," sees Marcia with her sights set on gettingthe Monkeesfrontman to perform at her school's junior prom. In reality, however, it's Plumb who had the special connection to the English musician.

"I would go and listen to the Monkees record and Davy Jones used to say, 'Well, I'm going to marry you when you grow up,'" Plumb recalls. "So he's saying that to a 10-, 12-year-old kid, which now we just don't do. It's just too creepy now, but it was really fine then."

Asked if she thought she really had a chance of marrying Jones, she laughed, "You know, it sort of seemed like a possibility. Why not?"

That wasn't the only notable musical act Plumb's dad, music producer Neely Plumb, had signed.

"Hesigned Jefferson Airplanetoo," she shared, adding, "He was a very hip dad, on top of all the other great things about him."

An anonymous donor pledged $3 million to keep public television alive in Arkansas, but it comes with a catch.

Following the shutdown of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting earlier this year, the state of Arkansas was the first in the country to vote to split up the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS).

Former state legislator Carlton Wing became the executive director at Arkansas PBS in September 2025, noting that the loss of roughly $2.5 million in federal support made them adjust plans.

He rebranded it to Arkansas TV, leaving PBS behind.

“It's been a tough mission here of late,” Wing said, according to ABC affiliateKATV. “The federal funding cuts changed the entire landscape of public television.”

However, the viewers and donors didn't go quietly. They wanted PBS' programs instead of more locally focused entertainment.

“I love Craig O'Neal, but he is not Ken Burns. I don't think trading Craig O'Neal forKen Burnsis what we need to do. 49 other states figured it out, we've got money in the state, and I think we need to do the same thing," supporter Lisa Handley said. O'Neal is the host of an Arkansas TV show, per the outlet.

The Arkansas Television Commission ultimately voted 4-1 on March 12 to delay the split for 180 days, providing more time to secure funding.

Arkansas TV Foundation CEO Marge Betley stated that they lost 3,738 donors over the past few months, according to theArkansas Advocate.

“We had a lot of donors walk away because what they were hoping to pay for with their donations was PBS,” Senator Clarke Tucker said. “What this does is it creates an incentive and a mechanism for those donors to come back to the table.”

The anonymous donor's pledge stated that others should also contribute to save PBS.

On Wednesday, April 22, Senate Bill 77 was advanced by lawmakers. The bill allows up to $550,000 in private donations to be matched by Arkansas' public television network.

“There was a bad audit that some legislators had concerns about. I think those financial issues have been worked out," Tucker said, per KATV.

The $3 million donation would arrive in $1 million increments for three years.

On the Friday, May 1 episode of CBS'sBoston Blue, Moynahan made her long-awaited return as Danny Reagan's sister, Assistant District Attorney Erin Reagan. While Erin made a brief appearance in the spinoff's premiere, her latest visit to Boston came with added responsibility — and a callback to the show that put them on the map.

The episode, "L'Dor Vador," features Erin returning to help her brother and Det. Lena Silver (Sonequa Martin-Green) crack a case involving a serial killer named Abraham, who tells Danny that he's already familiar with Erin.

When Erin makes her way to Beantown to confront him, the man admits to knowing the whereabouts of a missing Boston girl, before leading the siblings on a high-stakes journey to find exactly where he's kept her captive.

The storyline involving the Danny and his sister continues with the pair driving with the suspect — at his request — to gather intel on where the missing child could be. During the car ride, Abraham provokes Danny as he brings up his move to Boston, while Erin admits the Reagan family was "surprised" about the whole ordeal.

Eventually, Erin, Danny and the suspect wind up at a park full of abandoned busses. He lures them to an enclosed space where they can hear a little girl crying, only for Danny to bust the door open and find a boombox playing a recording of a cry on a loop. Abraham then has Danny and Erin right where he wants them and holds Danny at gunpoint.

That's when Erin, who is holding her own gun up to the suspect, says a phrase thatBlue Bloodsfans should be all-too familiar with: "Please don't hurt my family."

Those words prompt Danny to drop to the ground, as Erin shoots Abraham and leads him right into BPD custody. Later in the episode, the pair explain the significance of the line. "Our dad drilled that phrase ["please don't hurt my family"] into us as kids, and his dad taught him," Erin said. "So anytime we heard it, we had to drop to the ground for cover."

"I might live a few hundred miles away from New York," Danny said. "But the Reagan traditions live on right here [his heart]."

The phrase is a callback toBlue Bloods. The siblings previously used the code when Erin was similarly in jeopardy in a season 4 episode, with Danny then saving her life. Duringa later family dinner scene, Erin and Danny confirmed that they had their dad Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck) to thank for preparing them.

"You used to drill that into us every time we went to the city," Erin said, as Frank gave credit to their family patriarch.

"Actually, Pop invented it," Frank said of his own dad, played by Len Cariou. "He used to do the same thing to me. ... Please, God, we never [use it] again."

Elsewhere in the latest episode, Danny's BPD partner Det. Lena Silver (Sonequa Martin-Green) is on a familial mission of her own after learning the true identity of her dad from her mom, DA Mae Silver (Gloria Reuben). As it turns out, her biological dad is now in law enforcement himself.

Things get dicey when Lena goes to visit him — eventually leading to the shocking discovery of a potential half-sister. She eventually comes face to face with the woman, who is married to an officer she went on a ride-along with, but decides it's not the right time to introduce herself quite yet. This all goes down as her grandfather, Rev. Edwin Peters (Ernie Hudson), has a health scare and ultimately pulls through.

At the end of the episode, Danny and Erin discover the missing girl, while Lena and her mom still have some things to iron out.

Boston Blueairs on CBS Fridays at 10 p.m. ET and streams the next day on Paramount+.

Evan Ross Katz consumed pop culture with such avid interest that eventually, he started contributing to it.

Looking back on the past few years of his career, the online personality, 37, says he owes a lot to the first season ofThe White Lotus, but you won't find his name on a list of cast and crew. Katz worked his magic from the audience, stirring up conversation on social media by sharing shareable memes of the show's funniest moments and best-written lines.

At some point over the course of the season, his content became an inextricable companion to the critically acclaimed series. It didn't take long for Katz to have the added endorsement of creator Mike White, whom Katz admired well beforeThe White Lotuspremiered its first season in 2021.

"I was watchingWhite Lotusbefore it even premiered. I was locked in. I was like, 'This is going to be my show,'" Katz tells PEOPLE while discussing the recent launch of his Netflix podcastShut Up Evan, which premiered on the streaming platform on May 1.

He eventually connected with Jennifer Coolidge, too, having loved her performance as Tanya in seasons 1 and 2. Katz sent the Emmy-winning actress a direct message to invite her on the previous iteration of his podcast of the same name, and she agreed.

"My listenership grew so much because of that episode. So I really do credit her at any turn ... with really giving me the opportunity, inviting me into her home, doing this interview with me and kind of broadening my visibility," he says.

Katz hasn't stopped obsessing overThe White Lotus, but he's also started to give his other favorite shows the same treatment. In fact, he also pulls clips and soundbites from viral interviews, movies, comedy specials and more, filling his Instagram grid with pop culture's best highlights. He tells PEOPLE it's a format he could keep up forever.

"I love making memes so much," he says. "It's funny, I wouldn't be so bold as to call it an art form, but there is a technique to it. I often say that I watch something once for pleasure and then I watch it a second time and I turn what I call my 'meme brain' on ... It calms me."

The most memeable moments usually aren't the same scenes that make it to the trailers, Katz observes. There's far more content to mine in those "throwaway moments," he notes. "I call them meme gold."

That's ultimately what Katz sets out to achieve as the host of his new Netflix show, which will feature both one-on-one conversations with celebrities and panel-style discussions with several voices.

"It's all framing," Katz says of the journalistic style that's reflected in both his memes and his interviews. "These things exist, but you kind of have to choose where you want to look at them."

"Someone asked me today, 'Do you want to take shrooms tonight?' And I'm like, 'I just don't know if I want to be shrooming in public,' she said. "I'll get really emotional and start crying. Why do I want to cry tonight?"

After Karanikolaou said they could "do a little bite of chocolate," Jenner shared that she once took psychedelic mushrooms before attending an event for Karanikolaou.

"It was like a party, and I took shrooms, and I came, and I couldn't stop crying," recalled Jenner.

"I was laughing, crying because someone came to ask me a question, and I thought it was really funny, and I couldn't stop laughing," she said. "I cried off all my makeup. I went to the bathroom and I looked like the most craziest version of myself."

After Villarroel asked if that "really" happened, Jenner said, "Yes, I had to go home."

The topic of weed came back up again after Jenner mentioned she was onKid Cudi's podcastBig Bro.

"You were high for that podcast?" asked Villarroel.

"I wasn't high for that podcast," responded Jenner.

After Villarroel said that her eyes looked glossy during that podcast appearance, Jenner looked at the camera and said, "You heard it here first. I was not high for the podcast."

TheKhyfounder chronicled her Coachella experience on her social media pages.

When she arrived for Week 1 of the festival, she posted herself getting out of a van while wearing ablinged-out green tank top featuring an NSFW photoof a tattedJustin Bieberin sunglasses and holding up his middle fingers.

At least it was for Hilary Swank, herBeverly Hills, 90210castmate Tori Spelling detailed on a recent episode of the90210MGpodcast, which she cohosts with former costar Jennie Garth.

The teen soap brought in a stable of fresh faces for its eighth season in 1997, with the star of the crop being Hilary Swank. She'd made a splash as the scrappy single mother Carly Reynolds, and was only three years out from achieving the highest recognition in the field, when she won the Academy Award for Best Actress in the searing dramaBoys Don't Cry.

But Swank only lasted a season on90210before being fired. "Now, everyone out there, please," Spelling cautioned on the podcast, "this is from my perspective and my memory, so I'm not going to get it verbatim, what she said. But this is how I saw it go down."

"We were all in our dressing rooms. Hilary and I had become quite close. I had gone out with her and Chad and we had hung out," Spelling recalled, referencing Swank's then-husband of only a few months, Chad Lowe.

"I was kind of her safe place on set, and she would talk to me about everything," Spelling continued.90210producer Paul Waigner had apparently called Swank in for an impromptu meeting, which got the actress nervous. On this, Spelling had no insight.

"So she goes in and she comes back and she's crying. She comes into my dressing room, we shut the door and she said, 'I just got let go. I'm being fired from the show.' And I was like, 'What?' Because I hadn't heard any of this. We didn't know. And she was hysterically crying."

Spelling recalled Swank worrying aloud, "'Oh my God, if I get fired off of90210, I'm never going to make it.' And the ironic thing is, if she had stayed on90210, she would not have been able to audition forBoys Don't Cry. She would not have been able to get that role, do that role, and then win the Academy Award."

Garth sagely added, "Things always work out."

Speaking on a recent episode of theBig Bro With Kid Cudipodcast, theSeveranceactor, 52, revealed that getting cast in the 2008 comedyStep Brothershit comedy alongsideWill FerrellandJohn C. Reillycame down to unexpected timing.

The film, directed by now–Oscar winner Adam McKay (The Big Short), tells the ridiculous story of two middle-aged man-children: Brennan (Ferrell) lives with his mom Nancy (Mary Steenburgen) and Dale (Reilly) is still at home with dad Robert (Richard Jenkins). The two butt heads when Nancy and Dale get married, merging the two families under one roof.

“Man, that was so exciting gettingStep Brothers. Oh my god. I did not think I would get that part,” Scott said on the podcast. “And I think that's probably part of the reason I just went into the audition and just kinda went for it is because I was like, ‘There's no way.’ ”

As he explained, he wasn’t the original choice for the role.

“Someone had the role and then scheduling, they had to bail, so they had to cast it pretty quickly,” he explained. “So I got the part, and suddenly I was like, ‘Holy s----, I'm in this like Will Ferrell movie.’ ”

The comedy was a hit thanks in large part to its absurd humor and heavy reliance on improvisation — something Scott admits he was not prepared for at the time.

“And John C. Reilly and Adam McKay [were] directing, it was a big deal. It was so fun,” Scott said. “It was kind of terrifying because those guys ... they improvise a lot, and they're like the best improvisers in the world.”

He continued: “And I didn't know what I was doing. I never really even been in a comedy before. I couldn't get auditions for like sitcoms and stuff. Like, I just had no kind of comedy credentials whatsoever.”

Thrown into the deep end of improv comedy, Scott said he had to learn on the fly.

“So I was there, and so kind of had to learn to figure it out, figure out improvisation on the set ofStep Brothers,” he said. “So I equate it to, like, learning how to do the high jump at the Olympics. You know? It was crazy.”

Despite the initial nerves, the experience ultimately became a turning point.

“But I felt like, I went from having no idea what I was doing to, by the end of the four months or however long the movie took, I felt like I was starting to get the hang of it,” Scott shared.

He added that moment in particular felt like something of a breakthrough.

“I think it was like the dinner scene, and John Reilly and I started improvising about something — I don't think it's even in the movie, but we just started kind of going back and forth and kind of just flowing,” he recalled. “And you're not even thinking about it, you're just going.”

He added: “And towards the end of the shoot, and I remember after cut, John C. Reilly was like, ‘Alright. That was fun. Like, wasn't that cool? That was fun. Right?’ I was like, ‘Yeah, man.’”
