Son of footy legend John Hopoate reveals how he bounced back from horrific burns accident that left him 'sooky'

The kitchen may be too hot for burns victim Albert Hopoate to handle, but the young NRL star feels much more at home on the field. The 23-year-old Canberra player spoke on Wednesday about the grade-two burn he suffered after a bottle of olive oil spray left in an oil trap caught fire and exploded on his arm. 'There wasn't anything I could do besides just letting it heal,' he said.

Beloved football commentator Clive Tyldesley has opened up on the heart-breaking circumstances in coming to terms with his mother passing away while he was working for ITV during the first week of Euro 2024. The 69-year-old completed his last tournament for the broadcaster in Germany after it was decided he wouldn't have his stay at the organisation extended. His last appearance was the last-16 Euro 2024 tie between host nation Germany and Denmark in Dortmund and has since returned home to England.

You have to go back to the 1980s to discover Rohan Bopanna's earliest memories of Wimbledon. Growing up on a coffee plantation in Coorg, India, he would climb up onto the terrace and fiddle with the aerial until he could watch the action on Centre Court. He was inspired by those flickering TV images, although they were a world away from his life on the farm. 'Wimbledon was the only tennis tournament shown in India,' he explains.
